When you’re holding an event, you probably write an email or write a blog post to announce it your subscribers and followers. The thing about events is, you have to keep the pressure on. People are busy so you need to send regular reminders, talk about it a lot just to get people to attend. These are all musts.
Here’s another item you might want to add into your arsenal. A “Add to my calendar” link or button. The idea is, if you make it easy for people to add the appointment into their calendars, the better chance they will be reminded to attend. After all, it is in their calendar.
The easiest is to create an Add to Google Calendar button. All you need to do is visit this page to generate the button.
Unfortunately, there is no easy way to create this for Outlook, but what you can do is, create the event in Outlook and save the appointment as an vCalendar Format ( .vcf), upload this file to your web site and link to it normally. You can create a nice little button as the link if you wish.
Use it on your blogs or web sites whenever you have an event, webinar, teleseminar, conference or even a promotion.
