But I've found most of the time I'm not entirely dependent on people. For example, if I hire someone to create a program for me. I may not be able to create every single thing in the program myself but once it's handed over to me, I have a basis to work with and know how to work/tinker with it for the future. So even though they built it for me, they don't manage it for me. When I do get in over my head again, then I would ask for an explanation. Yes, I totally get that.
