And my wireless broadband card is key for those days I want to get out and about. Time-shifting (working very early, or very late when the house is likely to be quieter) works well, too. I'm not big on scheduling, but my work day is fairly 8a-4p , so the hours help keep me grounded. I've worked from home since 1989, and our youngest of three is 11. So kids opening doors has morphed into kids needing a ride to hockey or softball or dance (now, one drives so that's freed up my afternoons in so many ways!). So staying focused is an ongoing and perpetually evolving process. Now I have to go get No. 3 up for school... Batching is a great concept.
