Encourage people to be heard. Give them the space to freely express their opinions and reward them by actually listening and thanking them. Allow them to show off their thinking. Whenever I see a news article, a book etc. that I think would be of interest to a friend, business associate etc. I like to call or email them or cut the article out and mail it to them. Recently I saw a new gluten free cookbook at Costco. I have a friend whose daughters are allergic to gluten so I called her to tell her about the book. It lets people know you are thinking of them.
