This is a very common question for those who are new to creating PDF documents. The answer will lie in the software you are using to create the PDF. Some free PDF creators are not able to recognize links until the URL is written out in full. In other words, if you use Microsoft Office to write the document then you select a text and make that text clickable. That won’t work. But if you write out the URL in the document e.g. http://techbasedmarketing.com/ then it will recognize that as a URL and automatically make the URL clickable.
If you’re using Acrobat Pro, there is a command to make the text clickable.
Personally, I just use OpenOffice. It’s a full Office suite, complete with spreadsheet and presentation software and it comes built in with PDF capability.
