I'm pretty much the same way. My business doesn't need large equipment so I normally turn them down. Now if we were purchasing a regular office copier or even large volume printer I might.

For me it comes down to the cost to replace the item versus the cost of the warranty, and how long I expect the item to last. On my $600 laptop the $200 warranty wasn't worth it, considering the expected lifespan of a laptop is only about two years. It also depends on the PITA factor of returning the item. I bought an extended warranty on a treadmill just because they offered in home service. Who wants to lug that heavy thing back to the store?
