A Month’s Worth of Podcasting in Three Hours?

I did it!  I completed an entire month of podcast episodes in three hours time.  Everything from planning to recording to pre-publishing four weekly episodes.

I’m talking about the new Mom’s Talk Affiliates Podcast that I’ve just launched with my Affiliate Manager, Tishia Lee.  We’re doing it to equip our affiliates for success and hopefully to attract new affiliates.  Each episode is only about 15 minutes long.

This is hour it all breaks down:

  • Pre-Planning: 15 Minutes (Created a quick list of questions to cover for each episode.)
  • Recording: 80 Minutes (One Back to Back Session)
  • Editing/Production:  60 Minutes (Removed oopsies, added music and commercials)
  • Publishing: 20 Minutes (Wrote short show notes and scheduled in Wordpress)

Ok, I’ll admit that I’ve got a pretty high advantage in having hosted and produced my own podcast for over five years now – but even if you can’t get it all done in three hours, I hope you can see that you CAN start a podcast with a limited amount of time :)

Better yet, you can hire a great VA like Christina over at MultiMedia VA to do all the heavy lifting ;)

Wow, I wish all affiliate programs had managers that would go to great lengths to give affiliates the tools and help they need to be more successful.

Everybody wins in this case…because you’ll gain more sales and affiliates will earn more money too. Thanks!

That must have been stressful.

No, on the contrary – it was fun!

As a follow up to this post, Tishia and I have had some schedule conflicts on Thursdays (which is when we are set to record future episodes) and had to miss the last two weeks.

How cool is it that we were able to skip and not get behind with our listeners?
