I am puttering aimlessly around the web with my new Dell laptop, thinking that I should have an aim for this time and feeling a little bad that I don’t.
I could be doing any number of projects – but I haven’t loaded up any useful passwords on this system yet so I’m limited in what I can access at the moment. So aimless I will be for tonight.
Over on my water cooler at is Twitter, I found a few great tweets that caught my eye and I’d like to challenge my blog readers to create a post that answers one of my questions about each one.
So – choose a Tweet and answer the blog challenge, linking back to this post so we can all check out what is written
jenzug Finally looking through all those business cards I collected at BlogHer.
I wonder what she’ll do with all those business cards? When you accept a card from someone at an event, is it expected that you’ll make some kind of contact later when you’re back home?
Or do you simply collect them, alphabetize them and hold onto them in case you ever want to find ‘that gal from Blogher’ one day?
Blog this: What do you suggest that Blogher attenders do with all their cards?
nominivan best business advice i can give entrepreneurs – before you know it, someone will disappoint you. guaranteed. it will hurt. heartbreaking.
That is very poignant isn’t it? It’s a true statement – but not really advice. Advice would suggest what to do when the disappointment comes.
I responded to her that I have been on both ends. I have been disappointed by someone and I have disappointed others. It does happen eventually. Nobody is perfect and no one can life up to everyone else’s expectations.
I think we can live with most disappointments that come. Except those that reveal poor character in another – those are tough.
Blog this: What advice do you have for someone disappointed by another in business?
berrybrewer I have a little time to myself, but I’m so pooped that I think I’m going to “waste” it on sleep.
LOL! I sure understand that one. Been there. Live there!

CherylWenzel “I love you, Mommy. You’re beautiful.” Yep. My darling son actually SAID those words to me today.
Awe
That’s sweet. Love those adoring words from kidlets. My kidlet is 18 now and he still manages to say some pretty nice things to me now and then – thought I haven’t been told I’m beautiful lately

elizabethpw why did I agree to do a radio interview at 5:45 am Pacific tomorrow morning? dude. why can’t you east coast people just go on pacific time?
Muaa-ha-ha! Since I live on east coast time I get to have a little smile at Elizabeth’s expense. I do think we east coasters have the better deal in this time zone situation.
Blog this: Do you have a funny time zone frustration or confusion story to share?
mommystory I like my blog design, but I think it’s time for something new. No idea what, however. Must ponder.
I feel you! I redesigned my blog this summer on a lark because I was just tired of the same old look. A lot of people were surprised that I did not choose a magazine theme since I’m such a huge fan of them. (I am!)
I actually plan to give my blog another face lift this fall – the look I have right now is just not going to stand the test of time.

Tinu Watching Rocky II. Heartbreaking but triumphant. Should do Cinderella Man next.
Tinu, I love how those movies make me feel! They remind me that determination counts for a majority of your success

Hi Kelly,

I just posted an answer on my personal blog.

Great way to turn twitter into a challenge. I enjoyed it!
I can relate to the time zone issue too since living in different places and moving all the time. It makes things hard but luckily my family doesn’t mind when I call too early. LOL
I decided to take on your challenge and pick one of the tweets to write about. I could have chosen even more, but why be selfish – lol!!!

About the BlogHer cards… here’s what I did when I got home.
I first unpacked and categorized my swag. I had stuff that I wanted to use, stuff that I wanted to give to friends, stuff to use as giveaways, and then, of course, the T-Shirts.
I then moved on to the very important cards. I made sure when accepting them to have written some note that would remind me of the Blogger that the card belonged to. That helped A LOT! I separated them by a few personal categories: techie, inspirational, mommies, photographers. I had pretty good conversations with most as I was without a travel buddy, so following up was not at all unnatural. When I got back, I looked them all up on The Tweets, Flickr, Shutter Sisters, and others. I’ve stayed connected through those mediums, as well as blogging.
What can I say… I’m a professional networker!
