Capitalize on the Shower Season

As direct sellers we are always looking for holidays and calendar dates that could be great gift giving events. Looking ahead we’re coming into a season of Memorial Day, Father’s Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. None of those are typically big gift giving days for direct sellers (unless you sell ties, golf related items or grilling items!)
However often overlooked is the current Shower Season, both bridal and baby showers. Your initial thought may be “But the bride-to-be or the mom already has a Store Registry of items she would like.” True. Yet don’t forget about the shower hostess; she may be looking for small items to use as guest giveaways.
Granted the dollar amount that the bridal shower hostesses spend on game prizes may not total a large profit for you; however consider the alternative of no sales at all. Additionally you just never know where your next sale or your next consultant may come from. Future hostesses and consultants could likely be a shower game gift recipient!
If you offer a product that could be used as winning shower game prizes, then start marketing to bridal and baby shop owners. Inquire if you could leave a small display, lead-box or business cards.
April showers … bring May flowers. Or in this case, May/June showers bring future sales and consultants!

I love the idea of having a Tupperware, BodyShop, or CookieLee bridal shower. In addition to buying things the bride wants, attendees will likely find a few things they just can’t live without, as well!
