spark-an-ideaSparkplugging is continuing our tradition called ‘Spark an Idea Thursday’. Each week we’ll be sharing some great ideas for a topic of interest to our readers. We invite you to grab our image and carry the tradition through to your own blog! If you do, please link back to this post so we know where you were inspired!

This week we’re Sparking an Idea to Improve Your Workspace

Each week for Spark and Idea, my WAHM 2.0 co-blogger, Leslie Truex and I alternate who will write the post for the week.  Ironically, this is my week to Spark an Idea to Improve Your Workspace, and this just so happens to be my workspace:

Does anyone else think that I might be in need of receiving an idea about this said topic, rather than giving an idea?

Alas, I am a team player and want to be part of the solution, and not part of the problem. Therefore, I will give it the old college try so that you, the devoted readers of WAHM 2.0, can live a happier, more productive life!

Three Key Ideas to Improve Your Workspace:

1.  Each morning before settling in at your desk, be sure to properly and thoroughly stretch your lower limbs.  It will be vital throughout the day that your legs remain flexible.

2.  Once you affix your nether region into your office chair, curl your legs and feet up into the chair.

3.  Doing so will free up workspace under your desk so that you have more room for cables, routers, modems, surge protectors, telephone lines and computer towers. Please refer back to My Workspace above for full illustration of this concept.

Any questions?  Oh! One important point to make here:  After sitting in this position for five hours, do not attempt to immediately toss your feet on the floor and walk out of the office.  This will result in your falling on your face and possibly spraining or fracturing a limb (spoken from a voice of experience).  Give your lower extremities an opportunity to re-circulate the blood flow prior to attempting to stand or walk.

I hope this Thursday Spark and Idea How to Improve Your Workspace has been helpful to you!

Great advice! I definitely need to get a new office chair that’s more ergonomically friendly to my body.

I would have been the wrong person to write this post too. My desk is a disaster 80% of the time. Every time I clean it I think, this time I’ll keep it clean. But 30 minutes later its a disaster again.

Clutterbugs unite! I’m going to go with “the creative side in us will not permit neat and tidy to enter our aura!” ya ya … that’s the ticket!

I love your graphics in this post. They sure made my day.

And, my desk looks about like yours so I’m in need of tips and won’t be giving them…
