When my youngest was born in 1992 I worked from home for several years as a freelance writer/event planner/PR practitioner. 3 years into my biz I started to panick at the inconsistent income and went to work FT for one of my clients.

I’ve taken short “entrepreneurial” breaks in between jobs over the years, but I was lucky to work in all instances with great employers. That’s a sure way to put the entrepreneurial plans on the back burner!

Today I have teens and I’m now looking at how I want to live during this new phase of motherhood. I’m gearing up for the empty nester period of life and I want to be independent. Thank goodness for the Internet and the inspiration of women like you and Nola. These stories keep me focused!

I love these profiles Kelly! Thanks for sharing – they’re so inspiring. I love Nola’s advice about never giving up even when you’re feeling like you’re at the end of it all. I didn’t give up (even though I wanted to many times) and now all my hard work is finally starting to pay off.
