I definitely say find something you're passionate about, but do the research first and make sure it's viable. Yes and no. :) I think a lot of people try to start a business following their passions, and then realize they don’t know enough about business to make it happen (suggested reading: E-myth Revised) or the market isn’t there to support their endeavor.

I definitely say find something you’re passionate about, but do the research first and make sure it’s viable. It might be that the third or fourth thing on your list of loves is the one that makes the most sense to turn into a business.
