We see hundreds of moms on forums every week asking (no - begging!) for help in finding ways to work at home so that they can be there for their kids.

Then in another thread we’ll see a group of moms who are working at home complaining about the woes of the WAH lifestyle.

I regularly practice an attitude of gratitude in regards to my work at home status. You won’t hear me complaining about ‘the trouble with working at home’. I just can’t understand how any number of little WAH annoyances could stack up to things like commuting, daycare and panty hose.

I so love working at home. (And I’ll say it again) I LOVE working at home!

I don’t want moms to stop venting about their frustrations when they need to. Forums are a great place to blog off some steam and regain perspective - so don’t think I’m shaming anyone for expressing their feelings.

A new Blog Meme for WAHMs

What I do want is to encourage all work at home moms to practice an attitude of gratitude for their position as a WAHM. Taking a minute now and then to consider all the reasons you have to be grateful for your work at home lifestyle - then take another minute and share what you’re grateful for with others.

I love working at home

You’ll be improving your mindset and spreading a little inspiration and encouragement - and to add a bit of frosting on your cupcake - if you ‘count your WAH blessings’ on your blog and use this image to link back to this post, I’ll enter your name in a weekly drawing for a $50.00 Gift Certificate to anything you like at Mom’s Talk Biz.

While you’re posting, go ahead and tag some other WAHMs you know and ask them to join in and share their reasons for being glad to work at home.

Every week I’ll recap the week’s participating posts and put all of the bloggers emails in a hat for the drawing. (And yes, you can participate every week if you want to - and I think it’d be really cool if you did!)

I understand why you want us to do a blog post about this - linkbacks are always appreciated - but I purposefully keep my blog life and my work life pretty separate. I absolutely love freelancing from home. I set my own hours, can spend however much time I need to with my child, have no overhead, I could go on and on, but I just don’t want to blog about it :)

I personally am so, so grateful to be a WAHM, and basically every day, I think of it.

Especially since I worked in the corporate, government, out of the house from 8 am to 6 pm world for over 20 years. I actually loved working in the business world then, but I wanted to be home with my kids, and when I finally was able to, it made me all the more grateful for this lifestyle.

These days, as I see the price of gas going up and up, I am even more grateful for not having to drive to and from work. I have even been able to give up my car and my lifestyle suits me so well.
